Camden Hills State Park
280 Belfast Rd, Camden, ME 04843
Camden Hills State Park offers some great terrain for all hiking types from casual flat trails to some more aggressive pitches. Camden State Park is also a full service state operated camp ground so it is a wonderful jump point for exploring the area.
Belfast
If I was not enjoying my time in Rockland, I would more than likely be in Belfast. I will call it the sister "city" to Rockland. Although both towns are relatively small, they offer wonderful communities with shops, restaurants, authentic Maine culture, amenities and a pleasant vibe to resonate with. Belfast also has an amazing Co-Op, so if you are an organic foodie, check it out!
Owls Head Lighthouse
186 Lighthouse Rd, Owls Head, ME 04854
Owls Head Lighthouse is a midcoast classic! Built in 1825, it sits on a peninsula that protects much of Rockland Harbor. This was a mainstay to the maritime roots of our communities. There are some low impact foot paths for all ages to explore. Want another stunning lighthouse? Check out Marshall Point in Port Clyde
Popham Beach State Park
711 Popham Rd, Phippsburg, ME 04562
One of Maine's most iconic beaches; it is an awe inspiring scene of nature in its most elegant and beautiful form. Miles of sand beaches, islands, and tidal inlets, all bound on the north by the Kennebec River and the remnants of a historic fort. Does it get any better?
